This area has implemented a technique that uses 90% of the water resulting from our treatment plant to irrigate the green areas of AFZ.

Without a doubt, the most important thing is for our clients to maintain the continuity of their operations. For this reason, we work together with the National Power and Light Company (CNFL) to design and install an electrical system with an automatic medium-voltage transfer, which allows operations to obtain electrical supply from two independent connections. Additionally, each building has its own electric generator.

Likewise, at AFZ we have a drinking water supply with an important reserve to use in case of an emergency. It guarantees this resource for 24 consecutive hours while providing sufficient time to supply the reservoir again if necessary. We also ensure the potability of our reserves through a purification system and certified laboratory tests that are carried out twice every month.

AFZ’s fire fighting system is recognized as one of the best in the country. It has a 480 m3 (16,950 ft3) water reservoir with a 1000 gallon per minute pump to last for over an hour of flow. In addition, we perform rigorous maintenance according to NFPA standards and the voluntary audits that we request every year from the Costa Rican Fire Department.
