As 2025 comes to a close, at America Free Zone we want to highlight the growth Cognizant Technology Solutions achieved in Costa Rica and its decision to continue expanding its operations in the country and within our business community.

This year, Cognizant delivered one of its most significant milestones since launching operations in Costa Rica in 2013, with more than 500 new hires and the expansion of its infrastructure within America Free Zone. In Costa Rica, the company delivers professional processes and business services related to languages, supply chain, and sales.

This progress takes place in a context where Costa Rica has consolidated its position as a regional leader in knowledge-intensive, high value-added services, with more than 350 multinational companies in the sector established in the country. In 2024, these activities reached exports of $9.28 billion, with an average annual growth rate of 12.2% over the past five years. Within this group, information and communication technologies (ICT) accounted for approximately 26% of total exports, reflecting the level of specialization the country has developed.

Cognizant’s expanded presence in 2025 reinforces its growth strategy in the local market, leveraging Costa Rican talent and the conditions Costa Rica offers for these types of operations.
